See exactly where you rank on the map
Your Google Maps ranking isn't one number — it changes block by block. This scan checks your keyword from 49 points around your business and paints the heatmap: green where you win, red where competitors get the call.
How it works
Paid trackers charge $30+/mo to run this every week. Your first full scan is free.
We drop a 7×7 grid
Forty-nine scan points across a 5-mile square centered on your business — roughly every 0.8 miles, the way LocalFalcon and Places Scout do it.
Live rank at every pin
Each point runs your keyword against Google Maps from that exact location and records your real local pack position — no estimates, no cached data.
Read your heatmap
Green pins mean Map Pack. Red means invisible. You'll see your average position, top-3 coverage, and exactly which direction you're losing.
Common questions
Why does my ranking change from block to block?
Proximity is one of Google's strongest local ranking signals. A searcher two miles north of you sees a different Map Pack than one two miles south — which is why a single 'we rank #2' number is usually wrong for most of your service area.
What area does the scan cover?
A 7×7 grid over a 5-mile square (2.5-mile radius) centered on your Google Business Profile location, with pins roughly 0.8 miles apart. That covers the neighborhoods where most of your customers actually search.
I'm showing 20+ almost everywhere. Is that normal?
It's common — and it means you're effectively invisible for that keyword outside your immediate block. Usual causes: weak review velocity, missing categories, thin citations, or a competitor simply out-optimizing you. All fixable.
How do I turn red zones green?
More reviews with keywords in them, the right GBP categories, consistent citations, and location-relevant content. That's the exact playbook Locafy runs — the grid you just scanned is how we measure it working.
Want the whole grid green?
Locafy's Maps program is built to expand your green zone block by block — reviews, categories, citations, and content, done for you. Rescan monthly and watch it spread.
